Steve discovered yoga later in his life after using his body harshly in his public safety career. Being a “gym rat” all his life and three decades of evolving careers from the Marine Corps, a paramedic and law enforcement all of which have taken a physical toll on his body. Steve tried yoga at the encouragement of a physical therapist after a shoulder injury. He tried the free week at Hot Yoga Healthy You and was hooked on day one of his first yoga class. He was needing a functionally physical body and a mindful means of reducing stress. Yoga provides the ability to challenge his body and provide mental clarity that he can apply in his daily life. Steve is a 200 hour registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance. He completed teacher training at Hot Yoga Healthy You. Steve loves the physical mind body connection during practice and the mental clarity it provides during the remainder of his day. As a yoga teacher, it excites Steve to hear stories from yogis about how yoga has changed the bodies, but more importantly their lives.
Steve currently teaches Vinyasa level 1 at HYHY. In Steve’s class his desire is to provide a safe environment for yogi students to find a place to focus on a physical and emotional release and grow their yoga practice. His hope is for students to grow stronger in their bodies and their minds to be capable, mindful yogi warriors off the mat.
