Micaela began her yoga journey at Hot Yoga Healthy You (HYHY) when, at 14 years old, she and her mom tried a class as a mother-daughter activity. She was instantly hooked, as it inspired a sense of calm, helped Micaela cultivate a better relationship with her mind and body, provided a great stress release outlet and was different than any of the martial arts training or Zumba classes she had been doing up to that point. Yoga soon became so much more than she had ever expected. It created a deeper family connection, as her whole family practices now too! Micaela holds her RYT 200 hour Vinyasa certification, which she received through Hot Yoga Healthy You teacher training. She also holds Yin Yoga Certification from Yoga International. Micaela’s favorite thing about Yoga is the non-judgement aspect that comes with it. Unlike any other physical sports or activities she has done, yoga provides a safe space where there's no competition or judgement. Doing your personal best is all that matters! Micaela also loves the mind-body connection that yoga helps cultivate, as it tunes people into what their body is feeing while simultaneously helping them realize their thought patterns. As a result, yogis are able to broaden their perspectives and rewire their thoughts and actions!
Micaela currently teaches Vinyasa 1 and Yin Yoga at Hot Yoga Healthy You. Students who take Micaela’s class can expect to have fun in a supportive and accepting environment without judgement or expectations! Ultimately her goal in class and as a teacher is to share her love and knowledge of yoga with her students so they feel in touch with their own practice and in-the-know about all of the positive benefits yoga brings.
